Printing Policy for Labs

Printing in Academic Computing Labs.

Academic Computing is not an output bureau. It is not a place to get final output of your work. Printers are provided in every classroom for students to proof their work during the design process. Final output is your responsibility.

  • There is absolutly no color printing during labs.
  • Color printing is to be done only during class while your teacher is present.
  • Please see the Iris/copier printing information located here.
  • In the word processing and graphics labs you may not make more than one copy of any document. The printers are not to be used as photo copy machines.

Note* The quality of your output, even on inexpensive printers, is heavily dependent on your knowledge of printing. Higher resolution is not necessarily better. Please ask your teacher to explain the printing process. Or you might consider taking a pre-press class offered throught the Photography department.
